Big Flower - Little Card

Ingredients:

Card/Paper: Whisper White, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery, Certainly Celery designer paper
Ink: Lavender Lace marker, Versamark ink pad
Stamps: Sincere Salutations
Other: Pretties Kit flower, Certainly Celery Brads, Stampin' Pastels, clear embossing pow
Card Size: 9.5 cm x 9.5 cm

Method:

This card is for a colour challenge on In Love With Stamping.

I coloured one of the large flowers from the kit with Lavender Lace pastel, and a sponge dauber - very quick and easy, and gives a slightly velvety look to the petals. For the centre of the flower I punched a 1" circle from Certainly Celery card, and another from Apricot Appeal. Randomly punched 1/16" holes in the apricot circle. I then pressed it into the surface of a Versamark ink pad, and embossed with clear embossing powder. Did this twice to make the embossing a bit thicker. Glued the two circles together, and then into the centre of the flower. Used the corner rounder with the guard taken off to punch a scalloped edge on the apricot card. Used the Stampamajig to postition the wording on the designer paper. Finished off with three brads. All mounted onto a white card base.

Seeing Spots for a Challenge

Ingredients:

Card/Paper: Whisper White, Apricot Appeal
Ink: Apricot Appeal, Only Orange, Brocade Blue
Stamps: Seeing Spots, Birthday Cheer & Wishes, Petals Wheel
Other: 1/2" & 5/8" circle punches

Method:

Used the wheel with apricot ink pad, to stamp the apricot card. Stamped two different circle designs on scraps of white using marker pens in the blue and orange. Punched out and arranged in a random pattern, popping some of them up with foam pads. Inked the greeting stamp with orange and blue markers and stamped directly on the card base.

Ink: Certainly Celery, Elegant Eggplant
Stamps: Seeing Spots, Petals Jumbo Wheel, Cheer & Wishes

Method:

Stamped using the wheel directly onto the card base. Punched the edge of the Elegant Eggplant, and Certainly Celery with the corner rounder to make scallops. Layered onto the card base - offsetting the scallops on the two layers. Punched scalloped circles from the Orchid Opulence. Stamped flowers from the Seeing Spots set with Elegant Eggplant ink onto Whisper White. Punched out the images with the circle punch, and glued onto the scalloped circles. Mounted these onto the card with foam pads. Stamped sentiment with Elegant Eggplant.

Touch of Nature Trio

After this one, I think I'll have to do something other than a group of 3 flowers!

For this card I have used the Touch of Nature set from Stampin' Up. Such lovely flowers, and so easy to get them to look good! I just inked up the stamp with red on the flower and green on the stem. I stamped the flower image twice on post it notes so that it was partly over the sticky part. Then cut them out and used to mask off each of the first two flowers so that I could layer them. Then used the blender pen to draw the colour off the stamped image and fill in the flower. Added a little yellow to the centre, which combined with the red ink already there has turned a little orange. Once the image was finished I cut it to size, then embossed with a Nestability square die. Chalked the edge and matted onto green card.
The background is stamped with red ink onto the red card using the fern leaf stamp. Used my 1/2" circle punch to shape the corners, and then matted onto more green card. The 'brads' are 1/4" circles punched from card stamped with the flower centre and coloured in using the blender pen. Then embossed a little from the back to make them cup slightly. You can see them better if you click on the image to enlarge. All mounted on to a pre-scored cream card base. The reason for not using real brads is that this card is for a challenge on In Love With Stamping which is to use only stamps and card - no embellishments are allowed.
