My daughter said when we were making the punch art that she would like presents on the last box. I had wanted to include a train, but the other boxes were too short - so a present carrying train was the combined idea for the last box!<br />
<br />
The presents are just rectangles of card, glittered with gold using Heat'n'stick powder, and wrapped with short lengths of ribbon and a bow stuck on top.<br />
<br />
The engine and trucks are made using the two Tag punches, with some small circles for wheels. I used the Word Window punch to create the train window.<br />
<br />
I've added this to the list of step-by-steps to do after Christmas!<br />
<br />
Wishing all my blog readers a very happy Christmas! See you in the New Year.<span style="font-weight: bold;"></span><br />

A little bit of texture added by embossing one, and pricking and scoring lines on the other (the lines don't show up in the photo, but are top and bottom of the row of holes). I also sponged the edges, and curved the pieces slightly using my bone folder before spritzing with some home made shimmer spray to add some twinkle.<br /><br />Last one tomorrow!<br /><br /><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-59176836661773049762011-12-22T21:35:00.004+00:002012-08-22T22:39:33.147+01:00Quick Catch-Up on the Advent Calendar BoxesWell, I have presents bought and wrapped, food and menus organised, and house nearly tidy (ish!) with a whole two days to spare (most unlike me) - so have a little time to pop on photos of the last week's advent boxes that I missed. I had planned to keep up with one every day, but sadly failed in that!<br /><br />This is just photos - I'll have to come back and do step by steps after Christmas.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwEego5oDgVgcxeZCDB73vQhbDG8KETpDfhiyufcvTpm1mC8z6K2s_wc6gAXfWV8e3wK2f8Jh0ODmAeubbHx-THtUZsr5BEUFvgYvtsjtFJeMDCVQfEhTL29wVtws8rXTLysJZhyyZtsk/s1600/15.jpg"><img style="display:block; Fortunately Mummy saw him, and left a trail of post-it note clues to the place where he left it. Not initially my plan - but one of the chocolates I had wouldn't fit in the box, so came up with this idea when I thought to put the Grinch on one of the boxes. Went down well this morning!<br /><br />His head is punched from Wild Wasabi card using the Ornament punch and the edges sponged with Wild Wasabi ink. His mouth is hand drawn with a Basic Gray marker. His nose is punched from Garden Green card using the Modern Label punch, and then trimmed to make this nose shape with scissors. Basically I just played around until I came up with something passably like a Grinch nose!<br /><br />The eyes are 3/8" circles from So Saffron, with eyebrows made using slivers of black trimmed to a point at one end. I stuck them across the yellow circles, and cut off the portion sticking above the eyebrow. The pupils are 1/8" circles of Real Red card.<br /><br />His hat is punched using the large petal from the Blossom Petal punch, and the folded over end started life as the body from the Bird Builder punch, which I trimmed to shape with scissors. The white parts of his hat were just cut freehand with scissors - again playing around until something useful appeared!<br /><br />I will do a photo step by step when I get chance - it will probably be in a couple of days. In the meantime another Christmas card, seeing as I haven't posted many in the last few weeks!<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGnMDiTfmWq32gr6gkXe699AfYdujZCBC6hxWys7_SJ9zaEKa5bYBQ3XLkM1i4U7F1JOfcN_5en91ZqSMbkPyqR5Q40sn-9oTedcwhfRx0D1mRfkn5SR9JwofSrq-qwa9CNR9ZltP2TDI/s1600/Pines+and+Poinsettias+2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 238px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGnMDiTfmWq32gr6gkXe699AfYdujZCBC6hxWys7_SJ9zaEKa5bYBQ3XLkM1i4U7F1JOfcN_5en91ZqSMbkPyqR5Q40sn-9oTedcwhfRx0D1mRfkn5SR9JwofSrq-qwa9CNR9ZltP2TDI/s320/Pines+and+Poinsettias+2.jpg" alt="pines poinsettias stampin up" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5685315083954869874" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><p><span>Card/Paper: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla and Holly Berry Bouquet DSP<br /></span></p><p><span>Ink: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler</span><span></span></p><p><span>Stamps: Pines & Poinsettias and Contempo Christmas for the greeting<br /></span></p><p><span>Other: Designer Frames Embossing folder, Eyelet Border Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Large Oval Punch, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon<br /></span></p><p><span>Card Size:</span> 15cm x 10.5cm (approx 4" x 6")</p><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-37923868474775115342011-12-12T17:39:00.013+00:002012-08-22T23:17:50.124+01:00Candy Wrapper Advent Calendar # 11<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA-OB3kaFgCHqFVS67HkJatRZoidTmAFWSsjX6gLAPtvTZTFcGYTCFh9IEYKHEvH2jTRycShlWXruiRjlUSr25BI26c5T6grc4t7W4fL67eii1ksqmWuH8-35mQNIJpmCnbBVZMDXfsFc/s1600/Advent+Calendar+11.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 204px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA-OB3kaFgCHqFVS67HkJatRZoidTmAFWSsjX6gLAPtvTZTFcGYTCFh9IEYKHEvH2jTRycShlWXruiRjlUSr25BI26c5T6grc4t7W4fL67eii1ksqmWuH8-35mQNIJpmCnbBVZMDXfsFc/s320/Advent+Calendar+11.jpg" alt="candy wrapper advent candle" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5685300094009566098" border="0" /></a>Yesterday got away from me, so number 11 is a day late! Just a simple little candle for this one, made from the Modern Label punch. I cut an end off, and stamped it with an image from the Tags 'Til Christmas set. Then sponged around the edges with crumb cake ink, and shaped it very slightly with the long edge of my bone folder on my pricking mat. It's stuck onto the box with a couple of dimensionals just down the centre, so that the edges can curve backwards still.<br /><br />The flame is made from two bird wings from the Bird Builder punch. I trimmed down the orange wing with my scissors, stuck it onto the yellow wing, and then used the fine end of my black marker to draw in a wick. I then used Versamark, Heat'n'Stick and Dazzling Diamonds to glitter the flame. Finally I mounted it onto the box with a dimensional.<br /><br />Here is the promised tutorial on how to make the little elf from the last post - day 10. I made a mistake when I posted the dimensions of some of the circles, so have corrected them in the day 10 post, as well as putting the correct measurements here:<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2eKeGu-hiUXVe0dzUjtYe6a3Rryi5y-k0rB30TrRxd7asofiJ5FM6K43m6sG7FCnnX4XPtjKy7QbRAUPyKAafY08_aa4N4e0FHRfwtQpgQxQvYzBgHPcRY8JEopZdFM1wujO2iXgthwM/s1600/1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 194px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2eKeGu-hiUXVe0dzUjtYe6a3Rryi5y-k0rB30TrRxd7asofiJ5FM6K43m6sG7FCnnX4XPtjKy7QbRAUPyKAafY08_aa4N4e0FHRfwtQpgQxQvYzBgHPcRY8JEopZdFM1wujO2iXgthwM/s320/1.jpg" alt="christmas elf punch art" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5685299964970892898" border="0" /></a>Punch a 1 1/4" and 3/8" circles from Pink Pirhouette, also two part bird wings as shown in the photo. Draw a line on the hat brim above the ears. Remove the hat and cut along this line. Turning both pieces to the front again, check that the shape of the hat brim over the ears is as you want - on my elf here, I did a little bit extra trimming to shorten the outer tips of the hat brim, and to make it look more like it's going over and behind his ears. When you are satisfied stick the hat onto the elf's head.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJwTXIIYzHGuz2UwJxEtdCDZ5bOqimvsZ3D9IkHeiXU_EyUQFoEuBeGLH-nWsyoVwdyzZK_4Auk8vOaY76hew5cADmC_Ux4y9BHVXEQNGegQowsQAJyDlrVoivHJXnsvaiX8ruUEasQqQ/s1600/7.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 235px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJwTXIIYzHGuz2UwJxEtdCDZ5bOqimvsZ3D9IkHeiXU_EyUQFoEuBeGLH-nWsyoVwdyzZK_4Auk8vOaY76hew5cADmC_Ux4y9BHVXEQNGegQowsQAJyDlrVoivHJXnsvaiX8ruUEasQqQ/s320/7.jpg" alt="christmas elf punch art" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5685298459307010018" border="0" /></a>Add a 3/8" circle of Real Red to the point of the hat. For this elf, I have also stuck another circle of red on the back so that the tip of the hat is sandwiched between the two circles. This is because the hat sticks up above the edge of the advent calendar box, and it makes it a bit more sturdy for handling. If I was going to stick it flat on a card I wouldn't bother with the second circle.<br /><br />Finally punch out a 1 3/8" circle of Wild Wasabi, attach a post-it note handle and insert the shape into the Scalloped Oval punch, and punch to create the scalloped shoulder piece. Stick behind his chin.<br /><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-70295895758369384302011-12-07T21:02:00.006+00:002012-08-22T23:20:34.536+01:00Candy Wrapper Advent Calendar # 10<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV26inVMpzwFZ6FQfS7tp5t2GOAu3_-qM2ei8XpISNzCdqtaen-e7hfnQ5Ak2f6ianeg8NH4e5v7r24ElnohLum-w1FctAYGJfBVGAeMar52XHFdUsw1GRmxTVsje2fqwn0gHRb3mzn1g/s1600/Advent+Calendar+10.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 221px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV26inVMpzwFZ6FQfS7tp5t2GOAu3_-qM2ei8XpISNzCdqtaen-e7hfnQ5Ak2f6ianeg8NH4e5v7r24ElnohLum-w1FctAYGJfBVGAeMar52XHFdUsw1GRmxTVsje2fqwn0gHRb3mzn1g/s320/Advent+Calendar+10.jpg" alt="candy wrapper die advent" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5683494824181170354" border="0" /></a><br />Number 10 is a little elf. I haven't had time today to do a photo how to on making him - maybe tomorrow . .. but briefly he was made using a 1 1/4" circle punch for his head. A 1 3/8" circle for his shoulders, which has been punched again using the Scalloped Oval punch to give the scallops on the bottom edge. His ears are the wing from the Bird Builder punch.<br /><br />His hat is punched from dsp using the largest petal in the Blossom Petal punch, with the brim punched using a 1 3/4" circle punch. 3/8" circles for the hat bobble, and for his nose. 1/4" and 1/8" circles for his eyes.<br /><br />EDITED TO ADD: I have now done the tutorial, which is on the next post <a href="http://joanne-mainlyflowers.blogspot.com/2011/12/candy-wrapper-advent-calendar-11.html">here</a>.<br /><br />I thought I would pop on a Christmas card as well:<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg49pePCSyVocaG9QQ7HqRcsfJGP5ZZ4Jqq-y-xVSjtQe4zoTfQg6lm2xNb3rUofnqe561VIprzCvH7KZFWRj_b-k4dYvxRa27AeUSLMpz7URUe9Teyk1ASb3koIFaknGWx4cQET02KO48/s1600/Pines+and+Poinsettias+3.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 248px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg49pePCSyVocaG9QQ7HqRcsfJGP5ZZ4Jqq-y-xVSjtQe4zoTfQg6lm2xNb3rUofnqe561VIprzCvH7KZFWRj_b-k4dYvxRa27AeUSLMpz7URUe9Teyk1ASb3koIFaknGWx4cQET02KO48/s320/Pines+and+Poinsettias+3.jpg" alt="pines poinsettias stampin up" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5684632832518686258" border="0" /></a><br /><br />This is one that I designed for a recent stampers ten project pack. It uses the Pines and Poinsettias stamp set, and the Holly Berry DSP. I stamped the rose & poinsettia stamp in Versamark as a background on the top half of the Cherry Cobbler card base, and embossed the greeting (from Curly Cute) with clear embossing powder at the bottom.<br /><br />I die cut the circle for the image panel, and then inked up the rose and poinsettia stamp using my markers and used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp it onto the circle. I then stamped another poinsettia image onto a scrap of card, cut it out and popped it onto the main image with dimensionals. The scalloped mat behind the main image is cut using the Perfect Pennants die.<br /><br />You can't see in the photo, but the white areas of the flowers have been glittered with Dazzling Diamonds, so the image has a pretty twinkle to it which brings the card alive.<br /><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-16126934731212060912011-12-07T21:00:00.003+00:002012-08-23T20:20:33.811+01:00Candy Wrapper Advent Calendar # 9<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSb1fXLlAgx_RLDF-EAfDs-8fhlTdmRtJOiBzDdCc3tj9LwFNYKSUMABoNCSiLo1G9y4k9cEk9UISjfH1GONKTJ3lNL3n97SpjqUwK4acPOlESu8XRRR8lUjRK6MQwSHN-w9C17Jc2PPU/s1600/Advent+Calendar+9.jpg"><img alt="Punch Art Advent Calendar" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5683494372810368466" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSb1fXLlAgx_RLDF-EAfDs-8fhlTdmRtJOiBzDdCc3tj9LwFNYKSUMABoNCSiLo1G9y4k9cEk9UISjfH1GONKTJ3lNL3n97SpjqUwK4acPOlESu8XRRR8lUjRK6MQwSHN-w9C17Jc2PPU/s320/Advent+Calendar+9.jpg" style="display: block; height: 202px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 320px;" title="Gingerbread Man Stampin Up!" /></a>A little gingerbread man on number nine.<br />
<br />
I have seen various gingerbread punch art characters on the internet, but all of them too big for what I wanted, so I designed my own little chap!<br />
<br />
I started with a scalloped circle punched out of Soft Suede card.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg-dd1gvV0zH5z8KQnZa0hXSQTolToXtiQ-xWntNZqgKXoFpnmcKDwQibIofUHs_o1IPmHE8S04z0_GRI69E8WLByIES4WD2cLzPzmQD3zd1mvGrilScidI_bKJULdamVzv2rwpVkdYLo/s1600/1.jpg"><img alt="Punch Art Advent Calendar" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5684258990109041922" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg-dd1gvV0zH5z8KQnZa0hXSQTolToXtiQ-xWntNZqgKXoFpnmcKDwQibIofUHs_o1IPmHE8S04z0_GRI69E8WLByIES4WD2cLzPzmQD3zd1mvGrilScidI_bKJULdamVzv2rwpVkdYLo/s320/1.jpg" style="display: block; height: 296px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 320px;" title="Gingerbread Man Stampin Up!" /></a>I attacked the scalloped circle with my Word Window punch. First punching out the bottom scallop, and then punching out on each side of the top scallop - going in a bit further for these two punches.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQAhIHW4FAYlxUmCBEeKF4L1uF4PdFi17l6ddgmuYc-Uyhh0xMbharngNKB17s3cTATZgdZB38snYEPfwCQffX4cYslLatZAz8sZF0o4Xk-V3sjPdHXG4XcrjVCEe0pW6dA80V3kVUA1g/s1600/2.jpg"><img alt="Punch Art Advent Calendar" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5684258996578288978" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQAhIHW4FAYlxUmCBEeKF4L1uF4PdFi17l6ddgmuYc-Uyhh0xMbharngNKB17s3cTATZgdZB38snYEPfwCQffX4cYslLatZAz8sZF0o4Xk-V3sjPdHXG4XcrjVCEe0pW6dA80V3kVUA1g/s320/2.jpg" style="display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 320px;" title="Gingerbread Man Stampin Up!" /></a>Next I used my 1 3/8" circle punch to take out three scallops on each side. This creates the body shape with a tab for the head to go on.<br />
<br />

<br />

When the ink was completely dry, I drew in the pupils in with a black marker.<br />

Very simply made using a 1 3/8" circle punch. Punched one circle from Chocolate Chip, and another from Whisper White. The white one I then cut freehand with a pair of snips to resemble cream. Some very small circles punched in black with the smaller side of the Cropadile for raisins, and also in Real Red for the berries. The leaves are punched out of Wild Wasabi using the Jewelry Tag punch, and then using a 1/4" circle punch to nibble away at the sides until I had holly shapes I was happy with. Scored down the centres to finish.<br /><br /><br /><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-36811349482650960122011-12-07T20:13:00.004+00:002012-09-28T23:22:00.072+01:00Little Bird Gift Bag Tutorial<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/view/?bs4mc5g25a4hjzb" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5683482180241429474" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDbXk7LYXq-v4I6AgS4U-K3VyUWyGIE_8o4URN8JZkSWr8ysSb_O-RuHJGbvp15L2xo2V_KfRUHYtiWG_lWI7Bl_uvj1P7lMXzoClyWU3In5X6zJLgkW8TpAmR3xv0sOPp8eb_a05smEg/s320/Robin+Christmas+Bag.jpg" style="display: block; height: 320px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 278px;" /></a><br />
I finally got round to finishing the tutorial for the bag in <a href="http://joanne-mainlyflowers.blogspot.com/2011/09/little-bird-gift-bag.html">this post</a>. For the tutorial I have done a Christmas bag with a robin, but the basic idea is the same. Obviously the bird and branches are optional.<br />

I saw an image a few weeks ago when browsing on the internet, and now can't remember what the art work was on, but it included a drawing of a tree which gave me the idea to create one from circle punches. It's very simple, but quite a cheery little tree I think!<br /><br />The little star on top of the tree is the only non-SU thing on the whole advent calendar - it's a little (purple) Woodware punch. I punched it from Daffodil Delight, and glittered it with Dazzling Diamonds. The spots on the dsp also have Dazzling Diamonds on them. Here's how I made the tree:<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP0AhAvmI2oFQRuzlBHQQmk1AEGG-NHOnFKfOzpWlgGvaCjRULyf6L8uiSNBIVHzoqpOPp7EfnbSpDv8BBESmbL5GSxTe7WkWQsGcO4cI-gdZi2LDWnAA7y_-bPoVIgQtHDlF3ekDK9Ik/s1600/1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 154px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP0AhAvmI2oFQRuzlBHQQmk1AEGG-NHOnFKfOzpWlgGvaCjRULyf6L8uiSNBIVHzoqpOPp7EfnbSpDv8BBESmbL5GSxTe7WkWQsGcO4cI-gdZi2LDWnAA7y_-bPoVIgQtHDlF3ekDK9Ik/s320/1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5683185736826350066" border="0" /></a><br />Punch out three circles - sizes as shown in the photo. Mark the 12 o'clock position on all the circles, and also on the larger circle mark 3 and 9 o'clock. I just used the larger two circles from the owl punch for his eyes, adding little highlights with my white gel pen.<br /><br />And today's box, number 5:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyfRzChIeGqraDX05NMNCihPAYhSyTDu1SbllDnNU2clXwasd5GKGFwwGfI8FSWmKTJXufKb0o7pM9Id9l3wuzy5iXDt1cgFenmHi2nP0B7jxd9mdkNYrWStu3FwPmATi1tfe5LCym-68/s1600/Advent+Calendar+5.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 254px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyfRzChIeGqraDX05NMNCihPAYhSyTDu1SbllDnNU2clXwasd5GKGFwwGfI8FSWmKTJXufKb0o7pM9Id9l3wuzy5iXDt1cgFenmHi2nP0B7jxd9mdkNYrWStu3FwPmATi1tfe5LCym-68/s320/Advent+Calendar+5.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5682792112423521714" border="0" /></a><br />A very smiley little Angel, which Amy informs me is her second favourite box decoration. You'll have to wait to see number 24 for her favourite one!<br /><br />The angel's dress is made from the Scalloped Circle punch, trimmed with scissors to make the sides. Her feet are two little pink circles, and her arms are from the Word Window punch. I used the feet from the Owl Builder punch for her hands. Her wings are the Butterfly punch, punched from Whisper White, and then glittered using Heat'n'stick and Dazzling Diamonds. To make her halo I punched out the small oval, and then re-punched to get a smaller one. Then used a craft knife to cut out the centre. Finally finished off by heat embossing with gold powder.<br /><br />To make her face and hair, I punched the two different sizes and colours of card, then placed the pink circle on top of the yellow one, and made little marks on the yellow circle beside the pink one where I wanted the fringe to finish. I removed the pink circle, and drew a zig zag line between the two lines on the yellow circle, then cut along the line with my craft knife. Finally I inserted the pink circle in the zig zag slit to create the fringe effect, putting a little spot of glue between the two circles behind the fringe to hold them together. I then slipped the top of the dress between the chin and the hair with another little blob of glue between the layers to hold them together.<br /><br />Her face was sketched on with a pencil first, and then inked over with a marker when I was happy with the expression. Her body is fixed on to the wings using dimensionals, and the halo is glued flat on the back of her head.<br /><br />I'll do my best to get back with number 6 tomorrow!<br /><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-6462638363123954462011-12-03T21:04:00.003+00:002011-12-03T22:17:35.747+00:00Candy Wrapper Advent Calendar # 3<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAB_f5PAOiVoiJYtJesD5mmFSU0CxihnGw46UiEIj46F1JtqcKvmousMmi-Xmc1GzPQAsG2Mq3Xn5hSJKCXs-R20WdtXA7ZstHcdEje_O-oi-LKCveiyDRhHJOhLt8b18JtOW-WUcbeeI/s1600/Advent+Calendar+3.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 221px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAB_f5PAOiVoiJYtJesD5mmFSU0CxihnGw46UiEIj46F1JtqcKvmousMmi-Xmc1GzPQAsG2Mq3Xn5hSJKCXs-R20WdtXA7ZstHcdEje_O-oi-LKCveiyDRhHJOhLt8b18JtOW-WUcbeeI/s320/Advent+Calendar+3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5682011041066533058" border="0" /></a>Just a simple little snowman for number 3 - made under the direction of my 8 year old . .. I just made some sour cream containers from dsp with numbers on, added some punched tags with stamped numbers and threaded them on to some string which we taped to the door. Here's a photo taken a few days in with some of them already opened and the chocolate scoffed!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGSmyb-MNzaOW1WApjydkdNkX8bJhne17IGKiv9NsKCn-GqaBZV9oRb6IchJlgtrCU-ddDdzk0J_biT3SWm0ZhJuE3tPa56J-SX-9p3PF6Qv1qGKVxqOz4Y5Imy08PIqIILw3qUcnwcfM/s1600/Amy%2527s+Advent+Calendar.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 312px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGSmyb-MNzaOW1WApjydkdNkX8bJhne17IGKiv9NsKCn-GqaBZV9oRb6IchJlgtrCU-ddDdzk0J_biT3SWm0ZhJuE3tPa56J-SX-9p3PF6Qv1qGKVxqOz4Y5Imy08PIqIILw3qUcnwcfM/s320/Amy%2527s+Advent+Calendar.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5681655669156560178" border="0" /></a><br />So this year I decided to make something a little more ambitious and used the Candy Wrapper die from Stampin' Up! to create the boxes. I cut the boxes from red and green card, and wrapped each one in dsp. Then started the ambitious part - a different Christmas themed punch art piece to decorate each box along with the die cut number. Good job I like doing the fiddly stuff! Amy and I had fun though, coming up with 24 different ideas - although we did cheat a little bit with counting a boy and a girl penguin as 2 different things!<br /><br />All the effort was worth it though to look at that little smiley face. Here she is with all her boxes stacked on the mantle piece. They're not joined together, so she can rearrange them as the fancy takes her.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTnOpI7tgCnz_zKC6svQGt2YDBvy-3-fh7f-4mD6q6nYCHBrmh6i-kcMbEY_VBzhWe-mBRFXNFUO08AiowjHh3iR1B_kLexRGPnVimbgzQTNwJvYDaeIcjCMeUH1kkfSb65L9U-D2Sn5g/s1600/Avent+Calendar+%2526+Amy.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 171px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTnOpI7tgCnz_zKC6svQGt2YDBvy-3-fh7f-4mD6q6nYCHBrmh6i-kcMbEY_VBzhWe-mBRFXNFUO08AiowjHh3iR1B_kLexRGPnVimbgzQTNwJvYDaeIcjCMeUH1kkfSb65L9U-D2Sn5g/s320/Avent+Calendar+%2526+Amy.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5681664037126867506" border="0" /></a><br /><br />The good thing about the Candy Wrapper die boxes is that they don't need gluing to keep the ends shut, so can be folded flat and stored for next year!<br /><br />Here is a closer look at the first two boxes:<br /><br /># 1 has a little Santa owl made using the Owl Builder punch. Before punching the tummy part out, I stamped on Whisper White with the Santa jacket stamp from the Tags Til Christmas stamp set. His wings are the wings from the Bird Builder punch, which I also used for the red part of his hat. The hat brim is from the Word Window - punched once, then re-inserted and punched to trim it down. Finished off with a white circle which is the middle size eye from the Owl punch.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirqnTlsJWFGblC6TUp12vHHE4znlVHJdljb-4atQ9_Oo7-xp2xMzy1Phb7HoOp5ej4kIGBGsuKydm228eerEt__Wap7NB_UBNM7VWMOaPuIOrQee2Ut_QYUfZUsgWR7M5ssKAR8190GnE/s1600/Advent+Calendar+1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 223px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirqnTlsJWFGblC6TUp12vHHE4znlVHJdljb-4atQ9_Oo7-xp2xMzy1Phb7HoOp5ej4kIGBGsuKydm228eerEt__Wap7NB_UBNM7VWMOaPuIOrQee2Ut_QYUfZUsgWR7M5ssKAR8190GnE/s320/Advent+Calendar+1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5681652665049764882" border="0" /></a><br /><br /># 2 has a penguin also made using the Owl Builder punch. This time Spongebob, and again using an image that I found using Google images. I re-sized in Photoshop and then printed out a couple of copies to cut out and use as templates to paper piece the card.<br /><br />I began by making the card base from a strip of Confetti White card the length of the A4 piece and about 8cm wide. I scored at 12cm, 24cm, 26.5cm and 29cm, which left a small piece just under 1cm for a tab. I folded it as you can see in this photo from the back, and stuck the tab to the front to make a triangle. The score line in the middle of the bottom means that the card can be folded flat to put in an envelope, but that the card doesn't slide open and collapse under the weight of the front when standing up.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGsPQveUeOHkzIuuAZZKGKgUuKdWlwvES0VqLlmk-W1W-48tcTnoIJiuM4r7eg8mC9TLfp5rvwRc00gPPGtU1ok_j_aVhfMEUsQHccp27jUNsSJbgBlc4RAtdNMR45hTEqFEemWp_EkRQ/s1600/Spongebob+Back.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 317px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGsPQveUeOHkzIuuAZZKGKgUuKdWlwvES0VqLlmk-W1W-48tcTnoIJiuM4r7eg8mC9TLfp5rvwRc00gPPGtU1ok_j_aVhfMEUsQHccp27jUNsSJbgBlc4RAtdNMR45hTEqFEemWp_EkRQ/s320/Spongebob+Back.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670150510843301218" border="0" /></a><br />The body was stuck flat to the bottom of the card, and the face section mounted using foam pads for extra dimension. I cut all of the pieces using either scissors or a craft knife, just using the largest circle from my Sizzix Circles #2 die for the whites of his eyes.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOcLwZ-Ilenz99WOlqHkE2FvlFcF9M1-k8qxp46wlECPgVO1Y0GyW5rX7zPPbgt1xpEi_H3hzMUBRvIa-gQxXsv6z3x6lowqtnjoES7rDPjECinSOUntyra5RZDAPX8Gc1SapdHBTXF-M/s1600/Spongebob+Close-Up.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 196px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOcLwZ-Ilenz99WOlqHkE2FvlFcF9M1-k8qxp46wlECPgVO1Y0GyW5rX7zPPbgt1xpEi_H3hzMUBRvIa-gQxXsv6z3x6lowqtnjoES7rDPjECinSOUntyra5RZDAPX8Gc1SapdHBTXF-M/s320/Spongebob+Close-Up.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670150516953698770" border="0" /></a><br /><p><span>Card/Paper: Confetti White, Whisper White, River Rock, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist, Regal Rose, Basic Black, Real Red<br /></span></p><p><span>Ink: River Rock, Real Red, Pacific Point<br /></span></p><p><span>Other: White Gel pen<br /></span></p><p><span></span><br /></p><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-73120872923851761272011-10-22T18:39:00.005+01:002011-10-22T20:19:04.081+01:00Happy Birthday Bricks<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCHs9M-HqIhWgyMVuWA0QX6rxmPTHnHxISCF2lSexUjsWKd5SNJFfOxwG_WQBlIAElkE4kA3MD_3r2W8zAwD9CVlX03_gqt75YVSnbGWtU9YMlDg0uc9rQ_7ZDbHdgxwOSF4mSrwxEs0A/s1600/William%2527s+18th+Card+Trowel.jpg"><br /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit1WeM_rYcl_hXjTq-J5lAyBLgrzkUrhl6aLq7Fx0Sg1AjsKE2PKKX74nZFoyqo7tE21_Y6OgjN-2UbTYN9szBO8VRY8u-2m8T1_uvZgqU-v6pT5qb4_G-iTgK85GgY4EvNoM2qcpOt0w/s1600/William%2527s+18th+Card.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 183px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit1WeM_rYcl_hXjTq-J5lAyBLgrzkUrhl6aLq7Fx0Sg1AjsKE2PKKX74nZFoyqo7tE21_Y6OgjN-2UbTYN9szBO8VRY8u-2m8T1_uvZgqU-v6pT5qb4_G-iTgK85GgY4EvNoM2qcpOt0w/s320/William%2527s+18th+Card.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5666372599543697474" border="0" /></a>My nephew is learning the art of bricklaying, so I wanted to try and do something involving bricks for his 18th birthday card.<br /><br />The bricks didn't take as long as I thought they might to do. First I wheeled the Texture Jumbo wheel over Cajun Craze card stock using Early Espresso Ink. Then I wheeled using Cherry Cobbler at right angles to the first direction, to give some variation of colour. I cut the card into 1cm strips, and then into 2cm bricks and sponged all the edges using Early Espresso and a sponge dauber.<br /><br />I created the wall by sticking the bricks to textured Sahara Sand card, leaving gaps to be the mortar. Then trimmed the card around the bricks.<br /><br />The card base is Confetti White card, sponged with Old Olive and Marina mist to create a background. The wall was stuck on top of the background, and then extra bricks glued on to spell out HAPPY.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuFmRZDqQZdJEd7eS3fhVe2VH8B0JjynjAcArG4ZUlCeUbkoglnmRyCg4zL6YoXoUO8HH16QOK-ontfL6KeEMkOJVtdbXB4scYyy-z1VyDQM_qyS7iR8R5Rt48sqal27xD18HJsuFc9ks/s1600/William%2527s+18th+Card+Balloons+%2526+Sign.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 175px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuFmRZDqQZdJEd7eS3fhVe2VH8B0JjynjAcArG4ZUlCeUbkoglnmRyCg4zL6YoXoUO8HH16QOK-ontfL6KeEMkOJVtdbXB4scYyy-z1VyDQM_qyS7iR8R5Rt48sqal27xD18HJsuFc9ks/s320/William%2527s+18th+Card+Balloons+%2526+Sign.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5666372605741604146" border="0" /></a>The balloons were stamped in Marina Mist ink onto Marina Mist card. I cut out the stamped images, but cut off the little balloon necks. Instead I used the feet from the owl punch to make the necks. I punched out the bottom portion of the owl body, and cut off the feet, leaving a little tab on them to stick behind the balloons. Then tied linen thread around the necks. Wrapped the thread around a brick, and tied again.<br /><br />The birthday word was stamped onto a scrap of white card, then trimmed into a wonky rectangle using scissors. Sponged the edges with Early Espresso and then stuck onto a scrap of Early Espresso and trimmed around to give a border. Cut a little strip of Early Espresso for the sign post, and hand drew some lines to represent wood grain before sponging the edges. The little pile of mortar is free-hand cut from textured Sahara Sand card, sponged and little hump lines drawn on by hand. Used a craft knife to cut a little slit above one of the hump lines to insert the sign post.<br /><br />Stuck the pile of mortar and the post on to the card base, then the brick and balloons, finally the birthday sign was mounted on top using dimensionals.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCHs9M-HqIhWgyMVuWA0QX6rxmPTHnHxISCF2lSexUjsWKd5SNJFfOxwG_WQBlIAElkE4kA3MD_3r2W8zAwD9CVlX03_gqt75YVSnbGWtU9YMlDg0uc9rQ_7ZDbHdgxwOSF4mSrwxEs0A/s1600/William%2527s+18th+Card+Trowel.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 168px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCHs9M-HqIhWgyMVuWA0QX6rxmPTHnHxISCF2lSexUjsWKd5SNJFfOxwG_WQBlIAElkE4kA3MD_3r2W8zAwD9CVlX03_gqt75YVSnbGWtU9YMlDg0uc9rQ_7ZDbHdgxwOSF4mSrwxEs0A/s320/William%2527s+18th+Card+Trowel.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5666372605716652978" border="0" /></a><br />My favourite part I think was making the little trowel using some brushed silver card with a little rolled strip of Early Espresso for the handle.<br /><br /><br /><p><span>Card/Paper: Confetti White, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Whisper White, Textured Sahara Sand, Brushed Silver<br /></span></p><p><span>Ink: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, Old Olive<br /></span></p><p><span>Stamps: Party This Way, Birthday Best, Texture Jumbo Wheel<br /></span></p><p><span>Other: Linen Thread, Owl Punch, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet (numbers)<br /></span></p><p><span>Card Size:</span> 21cm x 10.5cm (approx 8" x 4")</p><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-11536566896860997772011-10-09T22:12:00.004+01:002011-10-10T13:21:33.805+01:00Ribbon and Paper SharesEveryone who participates in a share will have their name entered into a prize draw to win a free stamp set. This paper will be either Pumpkin Pie or Melon Mambo on one side, and white on the other (as shown in the photo). However, because there are 24 sheets of paper in the First Edition pack, you will receive two pieces of each of this pack.<br /><br />So in all, that adds up to 90 sheets of quality designer paper for only £21 - 23p per sheet!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggGCJIeuRi6K-G4QkSxe9TS54in6dT5ppxS7xfd7ZJ-np4gOoxboAPh-mmWH1jBElwsBiRYudVWKxgdrH707WmrTkuDojnjFx6_xGHcQMSgtpa3lVyF4td9gMvLH4zGipK5yncKRn0BzI/s1600/Paper+Share.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 230px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggGCJIeuRi6K-G4QkSxe9TS54in6dT5ppxS7xfd7ZJ-np4gOoxboAPh-mmWH1jBElwsBiRYudVWKxgdrH707WmrTkuDojnjFx6_xGHcQMSgtpa3lVyF4td9gMvLH4zGipK5yncKRn0BzI/s320/Paper+Share.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5661607266887161154" border="0" /></a><br /><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-75528694014316559352011-10-06T21:32:00.004+01:002011-10-06T21:59:28.259+01:00Clapper Card<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC0LLT2L55UIqceFRUDYSNrBlSkgRsJtOvCTzDZBBW9GBQGtel_XA042dxsjRkBR7M2t9tqj-A-8o7U7o5_65I30NlbzjGICwPkepWGXGyrTQYu2PsoVOkG4FCfvgn2S6k2yj7Z1K9F7w/s1600/Clapper+Card+Open.jpg"><br /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3PqTtF39SmWGSCxlpCfCql4zEznhpzXlPBfCNKJocv0xwqSYEt-gR3DI-ptRCHo8BQ3yDoWJHNHLNAVx2ZjR28cRxeg59zHAOSF1o7AneE4HtuemfIjnkZEOsEsdCQ9vwssuAbUgEIIQ/s1600/Clapper+Card.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 226px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3PqTtF39SmWGSCxlpCfCql4zEznhpzXlPBfCNKJocv0xwqSYEt-gR3DI-ptRCHo8BQ3yDoWJHNHLNAVx2ZjR28cRxeg59zHAOSF1o7AneE4HtuemfIjnkZEOsEsdCQ9vwssuAbUgEIIQ/s320/Clapper+Card.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5660479850660643410" border="0" /></a>It's my second daughter's birthday next week. Last year she graduated from film school, and is currently working on developing a career in cinematography. So I thought that a clapper birthday card might be fun! It came together pretty easily - just sticking on the white strips for the chevrons was a bit fiddly to get them lined up right.<br /><br />The card is hinged to open just like a real clapper, and the top pulls out a card with the greeting on. The bottom portion of the card is a piece of black folded at the bottom and glued together down each side to make a pocket for the greeting part to slide in and out of. The top of the clapper is also a very shallow pocket, with the greeting card stuck between the two layers to hold it in place. The hinges are shaped pieces of card, glued to the base part, with the brad at the top being the hinge for the clapper.<br /><br />The lines are drawn using a ruler and my trusty SU white gel pen. Then the writing is all done by hand also with the gel pen.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC0LLT2L55UIqceFRUDYSNrBlSkgRsJtOvCTzDZBBW9GBQGtel_XA042dxsjRkBR7M2t9tqj-A-8o7U7o5_65I30NlbzjGICwPkepWGXGyrTQYu2PsoVOkG4FCfvgn2S6k2yj7Z1K9F7w/s1600/Clapper+Card+Open.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 306px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC0LLT2L55UIqceFRUDYSNrBlSkgRsJtOvCTzDZBBW9GBQGtel_XA042dxsjRkBR7M2t9tqj-A-8o7U7o5_65I30NlbzjGICwPkepWGXGyrTQYu2PsoVOkG4FCfvgn2S6k2yj7Z1K9F7w/s320/Clapper+Card+Open.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5660479845898646706" border="0" /></a><p><span>Card/Paper: SU Basic Black & Whisper White<br /></span></p><p><span>Ink: Black Stazon<br /></span></p><p><span>Stamps: Dot Happy Birthday stamp from Inca<br /></span></p><p><span>Other: White Gel pen, SU pewter brads<br /></span></p><p><span>Card Size:</span> 17cm x 12.5cm<br /></p><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-34722884791661041422011-10-04T21:57:00.005+01:002011-10-04T22:39:21.367+01:00New Idea Book & Catalogue and Shares<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMCJHR9kuuxpiEL3QP30QEVTttpho8yRDkvJE0pUXs3b4Gr4IA2OtpogZ3jiEVnF3X_3QRQI74WwlUraVoGzM-VnDjHM44giWMPFsIVYfRq3c2OJAckJYtjTWVt2dSCKYjixpTzA7qssQ/s1600/Paper+Share.jpg"><br /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnXmJ7zGTVIpWoSxpTE2CJ2XYb-NWONxu231vNTTYACe-_Gz6BY5QQF9mULt4w-RccSn81t4dYdwGVzYDWwo5_cfnT-OIlZZ2pdSFossLj_EP3knLBx6sY5m-Twxz7jp3p1fk7WlFgA_0/s1600/20111001_IBC_en-GB.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 174px; height: 225px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnXmJ7zGTVIpWoSxpTE2CJ2XYb-NWONxu231vNTTYACe-_Gz6BY5QQF9mULt4w-RccSn81t4dYdwGVzYDWwo5_cfnT-OIlZZ2pdSFossLj_EP3knLBx6sY5m-Twxz7jp3p1fk7WlFgA_0/s320/20111001_IBC_en-GB.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5659744957179995586" border="0" /></a><br />It's here! I can post one to anywhere in the UK for £5.00 including the postage.<br />Or, I have just one place left in my stampers ten group starting this month. If you are in the UK and would like to join, you will receive a free catalogue. There are 14 different packs of paper, and the share will be for one 6" x 6" piece of each paper. Most of the packs have the usual six double sided designs, so there will be one piece of each of these designs from all of those packs. The exceptions to this will be for two of the Speciality papers:<br /><br />Flirtatious Speciality - there will be one piece of each of the five double sided designs, and one piece of the laser cut doily paper, which will be in either one of the two colours from the pack on one side, and white on the other. The colours will be randomly allocated to the shares.<br /><br />First Edition Speciality - this pack has 24 sheets in it, instead of the usual 12, and the sheets are a lighter weight paper than the usual SU DSP. So you will receive two of each design from this pack - ie 12 sheets instead of 6 for this one pack.<br /><br />So altogether there will be 90 sheets of 6" x 6" high quality Designer Series Paper for the price of £21 including postage to you. If you are able to collect your paper from me, then the price will be £18.<br /><br />This share cannot be combined with any other offer from me, or be counted as part of a stampers ten order. It is only available to people in the UK.<br /><br />Click on the contact me tab at the top of my blog (or if you are receiving this blog post as an email just reply to the email) to ask for a spot on this paper share.<br /><br />I'll be back with some ribbon shares tomorrow.<br /><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1981504011039063021.post-75055801331740852772011-09-30T22:18:00.004+01:002011-12-07T20:35:33.456+00:00Little Bird Gift Bag<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKUsBGGhkB3IOw9mWIEYbU7CTE0NkxaoVZCHmhYeEVrfvB3dbpt14bJx6ziQ5hl7PhByeTFu1zN3w92Vf2XbsEqjZih_2Ikdah8qBzZSdepaBivHqy-R7bSJCNZtgYaApc0QowsOF9gTU/s1600/Olive+Bag+with+Bird.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 272px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKUsBGGhkB3IOw9mWIEYbU7CTE0NkxaoVZCHmhYeEVrfvB3dbpt14bJx6ziQ5hl7PhByeTFu1zN3w92Vf2XbsEqjZih_2Ikdah8qBzZSdepaBivHqy-R7bSJCNZtgYaApc0QowsOF9gTU/s320/Olive+Bag+with+Bird.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5658265239956976818" border="0" /></a>This is a really quick and easy little bag to make, and takes one piece of A4 paper. No template needed, just a cutting and scoring board - the combined one that I have the Fiskars Paper Trimmer, that can be used to do both on the same board makes it even quicker! As soon as I get the chance, I'll put together a little how to on making it.<br /><br />EDIT: I have now done the tutorial which is <a href="http://joanne-mainlyflowers.blogspot.com/2011/12/little-bird-gift-bag-tutorial.html">here</a>.<br /><br />The closure is very handy - no bow tying required, and also quick to do. I'll put that in the tutorial too.<br /><br />This bag is the one that I made for table favours for my daughters wedding, but I still don't have any to photograph. Very simply made by punching out four of the plain sided pennants, and then curling them and sticking to a little circle. Another circle with a brad stuck on the top to finish before sticking the whole thing to a wooden cocktail stick. More punched pennants along the bottom of the card. How convenient then, that the new catalogue coming out on October 1st has a punch ideal for using up all those strips!<br /><br />The lacey border on this card is simply threaded with the narrow ribbon, and finished off with some pearls. I just added a few white flowers and a spray of leaves to finish off at the top.<br /><br />The flowers are made using the largest shape from the Boho Blossoms punch. I snipped in between each petal to make them longer, and then shaped them a little bit with my embossing ball tool. The centres are just the largest circle from the Cropadile, shaped into a cup shape and then inverted in the centre of the flower over a blob of glue.<br /><p><span>Card/Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Whisper White<br /></span></p><p><span>Ink: Old Olive<br /></span></p><p><span>Stamps: Sincere Salutations<br /></span></p><p><span>Other: Basic Pearls, 1/8" Taffeta Old Olive, Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Cropadile, Little Leaves die<br /></span></p><p><span>Card Size:</span> 15cm x 10.5cm (approx 4" x 6")</p><p></p><p><img class="centered" alt="post signature" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2594401497_a909849a4b_m.jpg" /></p>Joannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08226430184793404932noreply@blogger.com4
